Vision 2020 Australia endorses the Optometry Australia Principles for nationally consistent subsidised spectacle schemes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people: Recommended implementation standards. A nationally consistent approach to providing subsidised spectacles to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people would provide the opportunity to make a dramatic impact in eye health and vision care outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the country.
