Retina Australia research grants

Recently, the Board of Retina Australia announced that its 2020 research grants have been awarded to: Dr Raymond Wong (Centre for Eye Research Australia), Dr Anai Gonzalez Cordero (Children’s Medical Research Institute), Professor Andrea Vincent (University of Auckland) and Dr Jennifer Thompson (Australian Retinal Disease Register and DNA Bank).

Funding for these grants has been made possible by the very generous donations of members, friends and supporters. The total amount provided by Retina Australia for research, since these grants were established 21 years ago, is almost $5.7 million dollars.

Retina Australia operates across Australia, and liaises with our international colleagues through membership of Retina International, to achieve our goals and aspirations. We encourage all interested persons to attend the 21st Retina International World Congress which will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland between 4 & 6 June 2020.

Our vision is that there is “a world without inherited blindness”, and our mission is to assist those affected by vision loss from inherited retinal diseases by providing support, information and funding for research.

Retina Australia’s national office is now situated on level 3, Ross House, 247-251 Flinders Lane Melbourne. For more information visit www.retinaaustralia.com.au
