Strengthened national advocate for low vision

The boards of the Australian Blindness Forum (ABF) and Vision 2020 Australia are pleased to announce they have agreed in principle to combine their efforts to advocate for improved services, systems, and opportunities for people who are blind or have low vision.

This will result in Vision 2020 Australia becoming the single peak body for service providers working in the blindness and low vision sector, with its efforts complementing those of Blind Citizens Australia.

An end to the eye health and vision gap is within reach

Vision 2020 Australia, the peak body for the eye sector, is calling for action to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People have the same access to eye care as other Australians. The recently released Strong eyes, strong communities – A five year plan for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health and vision, 2019-2024 sets out a plan to achieve this goal.
