2019 Vision 2020 Australia Annual General Meeting

Vision 2020 Australia’s 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 13 November 2019 at the organisation’s office in Melbourne and its 2018-19 Annual Report can now be downloaded in PDF or accessible word formats on our website.

At the AGM, Chair Amanda Vanstone described Vision 2020 Australia as a vital and financially stable organisation. She highlighted the significant support received from both the Australia and Victorian governments and thanked all member organisations, including major financial supporters, for their contributions.

Vision 2020 Australia Chief Executive Officer Judith Abbott spoke to some of the highlights of the year, including development of 10 submissions to government, high levels of member and stakeholder engagement, a growing social media presence and sustained efforts and impact through the Victorian Government funded Vision Initiative.

Dr David Andrews, Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee, presented the Auditor Reports, including financials for the year ending 30 June 2019, noting that the organisation continued to have a sound financial position.

There were five vacancies on the Board, for which five nominees were received. The vacancies have been filled by Mr Dale Cleaver, Mr Andrew Harris and Ms Maureen O’Keefe, who are returning, and Ms Dee Hopkins and Mr Tony Starkey, who have been newly elected.

Two directors retired from the board: Ms Karen Hayes AM and Mr John Howie AM, and their outstanding contributions to the Board over the past 6 years were formally recognised.

The elected directors will join continuing Board members David Andrews, Jaki Adams-Barton, Dale Cleaver, Jess Gallagher, Megan McAlpine, Maureen O’Keefe and Amanda Vanstone.
