Vision 2020 Australia hosted an online webinar on March 15 2022 to provide the eye sector with an opportunity to receive an update on the progress of the second national eye health survey (Australian Eye and Ear Health Survey) from investigators Professor Paul Mitchell (eye health); Prof Bamini Gopinath (ear health); A/Prof Gerald Liew and Aboriginal Project Officers Alemka Davis and Rhys Smith. Webinar was hosted by Vision 2020 Australia CEO Patricia Sparrow.
The second national eye health survey is an important piece of research which will enhance the evidence base regarding the prevalence and causes of vision loss in Australia; build on the work of the first National Eye Health Survey done in 2016; and provide data that will be utilised by government, the eye sector, and bodies such as the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
