Vision 2020 Australia engages with members to exchange views, share information, collaborate and develop policies, strategies and submissions to improve eye health and vision care for all Australians and across the region. Representatives from member organisations actively participate via a range of channels to implement the strategic plan to ensure we meet our organisational objectives.
Policy Committees
Vision and Eye Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Committee
The Vision and Eye Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Committee (VECATSIPC) plays a pivotal role in the work of Vision 2020 Australia. It strongly supports the Australian Government’s commitment to end avoidable blindness in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities by 2025. The committee is dedicated to ongoing collaboration with stakeholders, including community organisations and government bodies, in pursuit of this goal.
Global Committee
The Global Committee aims to ensure that eye health and vision care are regarded as a public health priority and to increase capacity to deliver eye health, vision care and services and supports for independence and participation in the Indo-Pacific.
Independence and Participation Committee
The Independence and Participation Committee aims to improve the ability of Australians who are blind or vision impaired to participate in the community.
Prevention and Early Intervention Committee
The Prevention and Early Intervention Committee aims to eliminate avoidable blindness and vision loss in Australia through prevention, early detection and intervention, and improved awareness.
